  • Skuster Law obtained a significant, financial pre-trial settlement, plus attorneys’ fees, for its nationally known Washington, D.C. advertising company client.  The defendants in the breach of contract action were a high profile, Utah U.S. Senate Candidate and his campaign committee.
  • Mr. Skuster successfully defended a client in a multi-million dollar copyright infringement and product conversion action brought by a national, on-line publishing company.  After substantial discovery we established the Plaintiff could not prove its alleged damages, saving our client hundreds of thousands of dollars.
  • We obtained the dismissal of a complex, professional legal liability action in favor of our clients, a prominent Chicago personal injury law firm and several of its individual attorneys. The dismissal was affirmed by the Appellate Court.
  • Mr. Skuster successfully represented multiple parties in a Federal Court breach of employment contracts lawsuit against a U.S. corporation and its Ireland affiliate company.  The action arose out of our clients’ Ireland employment.  Both companies claimed they were not liable and sought multiple dismissals of our lawsuit.  After obtaining the successful denial of these motions, we established that the two entities were so interrelated the Court had jurisdiction over the Ireland Company.  As a result, both Defendants agreed to settle, resulting in a six figure settlement for our clients.
  • We successfully defended an investment firm in American Arbitration Association (AAA) arbitration against filed by an International law firm seeking attorneys’ fees under a fee agreement. Our clients retained the plaintiff law firm to represent them in the purchase of a high end recreational vehicle (RV) company utilizing the fixed fee agreement.  The Plaintiff law firm greatly exceeded the fixed fee amount three months into the representation even though the transaction ultimately failed.  After a four day arbitration, the Arbitrator awarded the firm a fraction of its alleged fees and less than was offered, saving our client nearly Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00).
  • Mr. Skuster served as an assistant city attorney for multiple suburban, Chicago governments, representing each in a full range of civil and criminal matters.  He has also advised governmental entities regarding matters including labor and employment issues, Planned Urban Developments, Proposed Ordinances and TIF Agreements and has routinely presided over Plan Commission and Zoning Board hearings.
  • Mr. Skuster personally resolved the complex sale of a Ten Million dollar ($10,000,000.00) commercial property immediately adjacent to Chicago O’Hare Airport.  The transaction had stalled due to the actions of our client’s original attorney. Mr. Skuster consulted and worked directly with the title company to resolve several title issues and negotiated a new easement with the adjacent property owner, which were key contingencies for the transaction.  Ultimately we e saved our clients thousands of dollars by completing the sale and avoiding them having to seek an alternative purchaser.
  • Mr. Skuster successfully defended an affluent, Chicago suburb in a high profile injunctive relief action.  The suburban, Plaintiff homeowner alleged that a newly enacted subdivision ordinance violated the municipal zoning code and unfairly impacted his property rights by its designation of “flag lots.”  In response to the Complaint, Mr. Skuster sought a dismissal of the action which was granted by the Court and upheld on Appeal.
  • Mr. Skuster obtained a special use variance for an auto body shop from a south Chicago suburb, saving the client hundreds of thousands as it already purchased the property and could not obtain a business license or conduct business without the variance.
